Constructive exchange between politics and business

As Chairwoman of the Aichach-Friedberg Regional Assembly of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), Katrin Krauß-Herkert, CFO/COO of Forum Media Group, represents the interests of the regional economy in the political arena. Current challenges for companies in the southern German Wittelsbach region, such as the shortage of skilled workers, bureaucratic hurdles and inflation, were the topics of several meetings between Katrin Krauß-Herkert and various politicians in the region.

Cooperation between district and IHK

District Administrator Dr. Klaus Metzger invited Katrin Krauß-Herkert to an initial meeting at the beginning of February. The main topics discussed were those that will continue to play an important role in the cooperation between the district and the IHK, such as the use of artificial intelligence. An important joint effort is to further improve the educational offer in the district. In addition, both the district administration and the IHK will support the “Job Turbo” of the Federal Employment Agency locally in cooperation with the local job center. The focus here is on integrating refugees into the labor market.

Hansjörg Durz (CSU), member of the Bundestag, was also a guest at the Forum Media Group in Merching at the beginning of February. Katrin Krauß-Herkert spoke to him about the chamber’s economic figures for the region and described the challenges for medium-sized companies in the current difficult economic situation.

Commitment to a strong business location

In October, Katrin Krauß-Herkert was elected Chairwoman of the IHK Regional Assembly Aichach-Friedberg. In the regional business parliament of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Katrin Krauß-Herkert wants to set the course for a competitive and therefore attractive business location. “Together with the members of the regional assembly, we will constructively support and drive forward the many upcoming issues such as training, securing skilled workers, reducing bureaucracy and necessary infrastructure projects,” she said on the occasion of her election.

Accordingly, Katrin Krauß-Herkert not only works closely with other company representatives in the region, but also regularly answers questions from the press and represents the interests of the regional economy to politicians. Peter Tomaschko (CSU), member of the state parliament, was also a guest in Merching in November and gained an insight into the situation of companies in the region.
